Q What is CityPointe?
A CityPointe offers destination information and referrals to real estate agents and temporary housing consultants nationwide.
Q How does CityPointe's cash back program work?
A CityPointe will pay you approximately $5 per $1,000 cash back on the sale price of your current home and/or the purchase price of your new home. All you need to do is use your local United agent to move your household goods and also sell and/or purchase your home with a real estate agent referred by CityPointe.
Q How long will it take to receive my cash back?
A All cash back checks will be sent after your move, within 60 days of your sale or purchase of a home.
Q Who is going to call me? How do I get started with CityPointe?
A You will receive a phone call from CityPointe within one business day after your United representative enters your information into the CityPointe system. If for whatever reason you don't hear from CityPointe, please call your United representative.
Q How do you choose the real estate agents you refer?
A CityPointe selects real estate agents based on their experience and market presence. The real estate agents referred by CityPointe are members of the Relocation Directors Council or the Employee Relocation Council (ERC) and have a Relocation Director on staff. This is a higher level of certification and represents the cream of the crop in the relocation industry. We will offer you several highly-qualified realtors in your area to choose from.
You should personally interview the third-party professionals referred by CityPointe so that you are comfortable with who you choose to hire. Because these professionals are neither employees or, nor agents for CityPointe or its affiliates, CityPointe will not be responsible to you in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with any product or service from such professionals.
Q Will I pay a higher real estate commission because I participate in the CityPointe program?
A No. Participation in the CityPointe program does not affect your commission structure. You are free to openly negotiate the commission for their services as you would with any other real estate agency selection.
Q I have a real estate agent in mind and I would like to use them. Can I use them?
A You are under no obligation to hire a real estate agent from among those referred by CityPointe; however, you will not receive a reimbursement from your relocation cost if you choose a real estate agent who was not referred by CityPointe.
Q I have already listed my home. What can I do?
A CityPointe cannot interfere with a listing agreement. You should continue with your current agent and, once the listing expires, we may be able to help you re-list. CityPointe can still help you with new community information and finding a new home or temporary housing.
